Emily Lukasewski

Matthew Gregory Hollis
After earning her BA in Dancemaking from Columbia College Chicago in 2008, Emily Lukasewski co-founded Laboratory Dancers and has been teaching, performing, choreographing and directing with the company ever since. Her work has been performed all over Chicago ranging a broad spectrum of venues such as bars, lofts, galleries and homes as well as traditional theaters. She recently toured to the West Coast with Lab Dance, receiving warm reviews. She is currently investigating experimental choreographic processes, especially approaching development through an inside-out exorcism of dancers’ guts. She loves to inject psychological research techniques into the process and supplement movement with multi-media experiences through costume, set, sound and design concepts. Besides her work with Laboratory Dancers, you can find Emily dancing with Mordine & Co. and teaching at Kristina’s Ballet.
